2-a) The History BA Program has therefore been designed to include 4 semesters of Modern Turkish and 4 semesters of Arabic so as to enable all (Turkishor international) students to meet these conditions. The School of Languages will be offering regular proficiency exams to make sure that students registeronly for courses that are in line with their current levels.
2-b) Students who already possess the desired level of proficiency, or look set to attain it in fewer than a full set of 4 ARA or 4 TUR courses, may, asindicated in the History BA Course Plan, use any and all slots “vacated” in this way to take additional general electives.
3) Included under the heading of general electives are also all History Department electives. Each and every course listed under all IHU undergraduatecurricula, including all language courses, may be taken as general electives. One of the general electives must be an art course.
